Celebrate Innovator St. Maximilian Kolbe at His Feast Day Mass and Reception

St. Maximilian KolbeUSTMAX Center celebrates an innovator, entrepreneur and martyr with the second annual St. Maximilian Kolbe Feast Day Mass and Reception Aug. 14, at Sts. Simon and Jude-The Woodlands, starting at 11:30 a.m. This date marks the anniversary of the day Kolbe was martyred at a prisoner of war camp in Auschwitz, Poland. It was there that he volunteered to die in the place of another prisoner.

A Saint for Courage, Faith, Innovation and Entrepreneurship

In addition to being memorialized for his courage and faith, St. Maximilian Kolbe is remembered for how he responded to the spiritual needs of his time with innovation and entrepreneurship. As a friar in the 1920s, he founded a monthly magazine with practical teaching about the Catholic faith. “Knight of the Immaculata” grew to reach one million readers every month. More publications and innovative use of technology would follow.

His feast day is a perfect time to shine a light on his passion, determination and courage.”
