Celebrating Holy Week at UST

Chapel of St. BasilHoly Week, and especially the Easter Triduum, is a deeply significant time for Christians. As the Lenten Season comes to an end, we commemorate Jesus’ final days before His Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

This year, that celebration will look different. Accordingly, UST is planning a number of virtual Mass’ and celebrations for Holy Week.

Holy Thursday, April 9, 5:30 p.m.

This Mass commemorates the Last Supper with consecration of the sacrificial oils and washing of the feet. This year the washing of the feet will be excluded due to mandated social distancing.

Mass will be celebrated by Fr. James Murphy, CSB, President of St. Thomas High School and will be livestreamed on the UST Campus Ministry Facebook page and on the UST Facebook page.

Good Friday, April 10,

Way of the Cross, 12:30 p.m.

The Way of the Cross is a reflective procession where we meditate on the passion and death of our Lord through Gospel readings, reflections and choral presentations. This year, the Way of the Cross will be prayed virtually. A link to participate is available here:

A digital booklet to follow along with the prayers is available here:

Celebration of the Passion of Our Lord, 3:00 p.m.

Easter Vigil Mass, April 11, 7:00 p.m.

Easter Vigil, held in the evening, heralds the end of Lent and the Resurrection of our Lord. Mass will be celebrated by Fr. James Murphy and will be livestreamed on the UST Campus Ministry Facebook page and on the UST Facebook page.
