Congressman Crenshaw Supports UST Scholarship Initiatives
Congressman Dan Crenshaw, a former Navy Seal, stopped by University of St. Thomas to show support for its “UST Rocks my Socks” campaign, which is an initiative to raise money for student scholarships.
Several UST veteran students were on hand to greet him and pose for a fun “Rock my Socks” keepsake photo.
“Nothing is more important than the education of our youth and their futures,” Crenshaw said when asked the importance of supporting students. “Anything that we can do to support their education and give them the financial resources they need and promote this great Rock the Socks cause, we will do it, I am happy to be here.”
UST Congressional Representative
Dan Crenshaw is the Congressional Representative for UST, and was invited by University Advancement to participate in the campaign this year.
“I thought it would be great to invite him to participate in one of our campaigns,” Shannon Broussard, director of donor & alumni events at University of St. Thomas said. “I knew he is a veteran so inviting the veteran students was a meaningful moment.”
A UST Tradition
The "UST Rocks My Socks" campaign has been a UST tradition for five years. Donors who give $25 and up receive a pair of UST's limited edition socks that has a new design every year.
Donors who give $1,000 or more gain membership into The President's Circle, UST's premier annual giving society with special benefits.
