Dr. Carla E. Alsandor named as Chief University Services Officer at UST
University of St. Thomas - Houston names Dr. Carla E. Alsandor as Chief University Services Officer, leading the new University Services Division that includes St. Thomas Facilities Operations, Information Technology, Human Resources, Campus Services that consist of the USTPD, the Celt Café and Catering Services, and the bookstore, as well as the University’s remote locations.
“This organizational structure accommodates a new level of synergy among the professionals who lead each of these areas,” Alsandor said. “They understand the importance of forging strong relationships, which they’ve already demonstrated across campus.
“My goals are to provide support and guidance and to use the University’s Strategic Vision 2030 as my compass,” Alsandor said. “It’s a great team, and I’m honored to serve in this capacity,”
Alsandor transitioned into this leadership role after five years at the University, where she currently serves as senior director of the USTMAX Center, the University’s first micro-campus in Conroe, Texas. Previously, she served as senior director of Alumni Relations.
Before her career at UST, Alsandor served for a number of years in the Advancement Department at Frassati Catholic High School in Spring, Texas, and at Centenary College of Louisiana.
“I have a passion for service and faith-based education, particularly Catholic higher education,” she said. “As a servant leader, I bring those passions and my faith into my work at UST.”
Alsandor holds a Ph. D in Leadership Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University, an MBA from Centenary College, and a BFA in Radio, Television, and Film from Sam Houston State University. She serves on several non-profit boards and committees, including Incarnate Word Academy in Houston. She is an active member of Saints Simon and Jude Parish in The Woodlands, where she serves on the Pastoral Council as a lector and assists the pastor with leadership development.
