Edgar Moctezuma receives IFMA’s Community Involvement Excellence Award
Edgar Moctezuma, University of St. Thomas-Houston assistant vice president of Facility Operations, received the Community Involvement Excellence award at the IFMA (International Facilities Management Association) World Workplace Conference and Expo held in September. Thousands of industry professionals from across the globe converged on Denver for this event.
IFMA’s Awards of Excellence winners were recognized in 14 categories. Industry expert panels of judges scored nominees individually across a variety of category-specific criteria.
On the closing day, IFMA announced the recipients of the 2023 Awards of Excellence. The annual awards recognize exceptional contributions to the association, outstanding examples of facility management initiative, and innovative relevant projects, practices, and solutions.
“I am absolutely honored to receive this award from IFMA,” Moctezuma said. “It brings me joy to see our efforts recognized and celebrated at the international level. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated partners at Goodwill for their outstanding recruitment efforts. Additionally, I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the IFMA-Houston Chapter and the Professional Development Committee for their support of this important initiative. A special thank you also goes to the UST leadership for affording me the privilege to contribute to the facility management community."
