Gratitude Summit Taps Alumna to Speak on Nov. 12

Shenel Rimando, BBA ’15, is one of the expert speakers at Conquer Like a Girl’s Gratitude Summit, an online event featuring three days of presenters November 10 – 12. Rimando, who will speak at 1 p.m. CST, Nov. 12, rode the wings of her University of St. Thomas-Houston business degree and entrepreneurial know-how to create a niche for herself as a business strategist, sales coordinator and blogger.

Rimando is one of 23 amazing, successful women in business who will share what motivates them to be grateful. Her talk, entitled “You Can Be More,” will discuss budget-friendly ways to find your passion, “so you have more things to be grateful for.”

“Conquer Like a Girl is a community for females who want to end the stereotype of doing things ‘like a girl’ as a sign of weakness and turn it into a symbol of strength and resilience. The co-founder, Madalena Costa, has been following my company, Save Sell Shenel, and believes I embody the qualities she was seeking in a guest speaker.”

Rimando will share different ways to save and make money. She will highlight her journey and strategies alongside 22 other exceptional women.

Among the other speaker topics are “What Type of Leader Are You,” “Gratitude as a Key to Success,” “Perfectionism and Your Inner Critic,” “Tell Your Best Story,” and “The FUNtastic Mind Secrets for Success.”

“I would not be where I am today had it not been for my alma mater, UST,” Rimando said. “From being a guest speaker on San Antonio’s KENS5 to speaking at the Texas Association of Journalism Educators to discuss my savesellshenel.com blog to speaking to elementary school and high school students about my career in construction, I would not be where I am today had I not said to myself, ‘Be your bold self and see where it takes you.’”

The Gratitude Summit, delivered entirely online, allows visitors to “dip in and watch the specific talks you need to transform your business or catch them all.”
