University of St. Thomas Hosts Gaming & Esports Track for Houston Tech Rodeo

Houston Tech Rodeo logoSaddle up for all things tech when Houston Exponential hosts its annual Houston Tech Rodeo. Explore how the next five years will shape the following 500 in these five days of community-driven content designed to connect, develop and showcase Houston innovation.

Concentrated along the METRO Red Line, the Houston Tech Rodeo Roadshow provides unrivaled access to the Houston startup ecosystem. Houston Tech Rodeo saloons (events) run from Feb. 27 to March 5 in half-day increments. Saloons are either virtual or in-person. University of St. Thomas - Houston, the city’s pioneer in esports at the college level returns as a presenter for the second year on the gaming track at the Houston Tech Rodeo from 9 a.m. – noon on March 1.

UST entered the esports arena in 2019 and offers college credit in esports (minors), has successful competitive esports teams, and has invested in building a state-of-the-art esports center on campus.  

In six sessions, hear top-notch panelists speaking on engaging gaming topics. They will emphasize how to apply “inspired genius” to the esports and gaming business so that innovation positively impacts the flourishing of the human person. UST is pushing the frontiers of innovation on its campus. UST aims to integrate the gaming technology into a liberal arts education that prepares students to lead for the greater good. UST invites innovators, industry leaders, gamers, and curious minds to learn how applying gaming, game design principles, and human psychology can help people in all industries create highly engaging user experiences, appreciate the many applications of gaming principles, better understand the gaming industry, and recognize the leadership, organizational, and communication skills developed from competitive gaming.
