Martinez Named to Top Latinos In C-Suite in Corporate America List

Maria Martinez '01, MBA '06Alumna Maria Martinez ’01, MBA ’06, was named to the top Latino Leaders in Corporate America list by Latino Leaders Magazine. These Latino executives serve in the C-Suite of Fortune 500 companies and represent about three percent of C-Suite executives across the corporate world.

Martinez Responsibilities at Murphy Oil Corp.

Martinez, who works for Murphy Oil Corporation as the Vice President of Human Resources & Administration, is recognized by her company for her extraordinary talent and leadership.

She is responsible for all global human resources programs and activities for the organization, which include HR Operations, Training and Development, Global Mobility, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits as well as Administration and Aviation. Martinez has worked for Murphy Oil Corporation since 2010.

In addition to her work, Martinez is on the board for the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce and serves as the Energy Corridor/ Katy Chapter Co-Chair. She is also a former board member with St. Cecilia Catholic School where she recently served as president.

Martinez Earns Two Degrees at UST

Martinez earned a BBA in 2001 and an MBA in 2006 from UST.

“UST provided me a strong foundation in academics, leadership and ethics which influences how I make decisions in my professional life,” Martinez said. “The learnings, insights and collaboration with faculty and students have been extremely beneficial in how I work with my peers and all levels of the organization.”
