McNair Center Teams Up with Woodforest National Bank to Help Entrepreneurs in Conroe Test Their Ideas

McNair Center Partnership Pilot Program Kicks Off in Conroe

Shout-out to entrepreneurs: The kickoff event for the Woodforest FoundrySM takes place Thursday, August 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.,  at 400 West Davis Street in Conroe. Following the information-packed gathering comes a 12-week entrepreneur activation program for those who sign up.

This pilot program is a leading example of various entities coming together as a community to provide trusted expertise and interactive learning for entrepreneurs at the idea phase as well as those who want to take their business to the next level. In addition to learning from local, expert facilitators, participants will become resources to one another as they all work to propel their startups.

The Woodforest FoundrySM in Conroe is sponsored by the University of St. Thomas McNair Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, Woodforest National Bank, Sam Houston State University and the Conroe Economic Development Council.

Director for the McNair Center Patrick Woock said, “It’s a great program, championed by great community partners. And it’s built for great people.”

Don’t Miss This Opportunity

The numbers don’t lie. According to the U.S. Census, nearly 5.4 million new businesses were registered in 2021. The figure marks the highest number of startups in more than 15 years. As the nation’s economy transforms, programs like Woodforest FoundrySM are showing entrepreneurs the way to success.

For UST alumni in the Montgomery County area, who missed the University’s training in August of 2021, Woodforest FoundrySM is another opportunity to get in.

Woodforest FoundrySM community partners agree just having an idea is not enough. They encourage entrepreneurs to confidently move forward with proven new skills and tools and a plan for success. Come to the August 25 kickoff, register for the program, then go for it!
