Ryan Konkright: Admissions/Enrollment Director Boosting UST with His Industry Expertise

Ryan Konkright, UST Director of Undergraduate AdmissionsAs Houston’s only Catholic University continues to boldly expand its presence in the other major metroplexes around Texas and beyond, Director of Undergraduate Admissions Ryan Konkright oversees the recruiting team with a clear and consistent vision—to connect with students who would flourish at the University of St. Thomas-Houston.

“Our recruiters break through the noise in the extremely competitive higher education landscape,” Konkright said, “to reach students who would be a great fit in UST’s liberal arts environment.”

Putting UST Front and Center

Konkright is an accomplished leader in Admissions and Enrollment and brought his expertise to UST in January 2020. Since then, he has continued to put UST front and center. In the spring of 2023, he will co-lead the National Catholic College Admission Association (NCCAA) Tour of Latin America for the third time. In addition, Konkright, who has been an NCCAA board member since 2019, recently joined the executive board, and UST hosted their annual meeting.

Furthermore, when the National Association for College Admissions Counselors holds its November conference at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Konkright has arranged for the University to host a large reception. The event will welcome Catholic high school counselors from all over the nation.

Konkright said, “We have also partnered with Rice, HBU and the University of Houston to host a secondary counselor reception open to high school counselors and community college advisors during the conference. This way, we are represented within the Catholic high school counseling community and outside.”

Always planning the “next thing,” Konkright is scheduled to visit various cities in Mexico and Latin America this fall to introduce UST to new Latin American markets.
