Show Your Support by Shopping in the Neighborhood

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, the Catholic Charity Guild of Houston welcomes University of St. Thomas faculty, staff and students to its upscale consignment shop at 1203 Lovett Blvd. for a meet and greet. Stop in from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Learn more about this Catholic women and volunteer-run resale shop that helps the local community regardless of creed or race. Last year from consignment proceeds, the Guild gave more than $600,000 in grants to schools, entities that support after-school programs, nutrition programs and more.

The organization of more than 500 women has a mission rooted in performing works of mercy. It has a passion for helping children and sharing the Catholic faith.

“We support efforts in response to a whole host of issues facing women and children,” Ms. Rita Bergers, spokesman for the Guild, said. “We want to raise awareness of our shop in the UST Community because the Guild’s mission aligns nicely with the University of St. Thomas’ mission.”

While at the shop, UST guests may find a treasure for themselves, while supporting good works for the underserved. Also depart with a “grab and look” snack bag as part of the fun.
