University Headquarters Ranks UST No. 16 for the Best Online Associate Degree in Business

University Headquarters logoUniversity Headquarters (HQ) ranks the University of St. Thomas-Houston No. 16 for the Best Online Associate Degree in Business. UST offers a General Business Associates in Applied Science degree 100% online through its Kolbe School of Innovation and Professional Studies.

“We are honored to be included in the top 20 of the Best Online Associate Degree in Business ranking,” Dr. Nicole Walters, dean of the Kolbe School, said. “And we could not be more proud of our students and faculty that have helped us achieve this status. This distinction is proof positive that our dream of providing top level business education in a two-year format has become a reality.”

UST added associate degrees in applied science programs in 2019 and now offers eight associate degrees, including – General Business, Cybersecurity, Network Technology, Electronic Technology, Drug & Alcohol Counseling, Pragmatic Studies, Liberal Arts in English, and Liberal Arts in Spanish (spring 2023). Dr. Nicole Walters serves as dean of the Kolbe School.

“Business education is in high demand in the US and across the globe,” Dr. Mark Amelang, chair of General Business for the Kolbe School, said. “The rapid pace of growth in demand makes the Kolbe School’s Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in General Business a great alternative for students just completing high school (or equivalent) or adults looking to enhance their careers. Our unique format allows students to apply what they are learning in real-time, while keeping the option open to pursue a four-year business degree.”

Earning an AAS in General Business program can help improve job prospects and earning potential. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2017, the annual median wage for U.S. business jobs is $67,710.
