University of St. Thomas Partners with Curative to Promote Communal Well-Being

Covid-19 testingThe University of St. Thomas - Houston believes that communal well-being is fundamental to individual health and has partnered with the testing company Curative to provide on-campus COVID testing for faculty, students, staff (and their families) and the community-at-large regardless of whether they have symptoms.

By appointment only, Curative Testing Center’s “Opening Day” is Thursday, Feb. 11, inside T.P. O’Rourke Hall - Room #101. Testing hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week. Parking is available adjacent to the building. Enter Parking Lot O from West Alabama or Yoakum.

The Curative Testing Center will offer the painless shallow nasal swab with results returned by email within 48 hours of the test’s arrival at the lab.

“The University of St. Thomas is proud to work with Curative, which serves as a crucial resource for the community during this recent surge in COVID cases,” Spencer Conroy, Vice President of Finance and Business Relations, said. “UST’s goal is to make testing more accessible for our University family and local community.”

No-Cost Testing, Health Insurance Billed if Available

“The addition of no-cost, campus-based testing for UST students, employees and our local community, is the latest in our efforts to create a campus environment that is as safe as possible,” said Dr. Michael Sullivan, Assistant Professor in the UST Peavy School of Nursing. “We encourage our UST community to get tested, especially if they have recently traveled, are attending in-person classes or are working on campus or have been potentially exposed to COVID-19.”

Though the test is at no-cost to individuals receiving the test, health insurance will be billed, if available, (please have your insurance information ready). Insurance billing does not require co-pay or deductibles, nor will you receive a bill from Curative Testing Services.
