UST Alumni Relations, ever ready with a great reason to throw a party, is having a “Birthday Boos” bash and cleverly tying it in with both Halloween and Celts who have their 21st birthday in 2021.

The terrific festive excuse to wear a costume starts at the oh-so-convenient time of 5 p.m., Oct. 29, at The Black Lab, which is located at 4100 Montrose Blvd. All alumni, faculty and staff are enthusiastically invited to come out and celebrate our birthday Celts with a toast.

Alumni Relations Director Amy Youngblood said, “With this get-together, we’re kicking off monthly happy hours at The Black Lab for students near graduation. At the same time, we’re introducing current Celts to our alumni community, so they discover there is Celt life beyond graduation.”

Attendees at the Oct. 29 event will enter a spooky-themed Birthday Boos setting with spiders and spider webs, jack-o-lanterns and ghosts. A lively DJ will drive the energy with all the right music. And the food will be mouth-watering light bites.

At some point, all eyes will be on the costumes for a contest, and there will be prizes for the standouts! Categories, so far, include Best Duo, Best Theme, Best Department Participation, Funniest Costume, and the ideas are still coming in.

“We encourage friendly competition between departments,” Youngblood smiled. “Assistant Director of Alumni Relations Taylor Mateja and I are considering coordinating our outfits. Might be Thing 1 and Thing 2 from ‘Cat in the Hat’ or ‘Harry Potter. We’re not sure yet.”

One thing is for sure: This one is too much fun to miss.
