UST Partners with City of Houston and UMMC to Offer Free COVID-19 Testing to Community

COVID-19 testing on campusUniversity of St. Thomas will offer free COVID-19 testing (PCR) to its community and the community-at-large on campus on Wed.-Friday, Sept. 16-18. UST offers this free testing opportunity in partnership with the City of Houston and United Memorial Medical Center (UMMC).

The testing is 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day at the University’s Center for Science and Health Professions (CSHP) building, 4102 Yoakum Blvd on the corner of Yoakum and Colquitt Streets. No appointment is needed.

“University of St. Thomas promotes healthy communities and provides this testing as a community service,” Dr. Michael Sullivan, assistant professor, said. “UST is grateful to UMMC and the City of Houston for this donation.”

At this site, the University of St. Thomas will conduct mandatory testing for athletes, coaches, residence hall students and residence hall staff. Testing is voluntary for the University’s faculty, staff and non-residential students.

Handicap parking located in front of the CSHIP building with general parking in the parking garage at Colquitt between Yoakum and Montrose, the Moran parking garage at 3807 Graustark along with city street parking.

The community can expect test results within two days. A negative test result will be sent by text and a positive test result will receive a phone call from UMMC with next steps instructions.
