Winning Results from McNair Center Fall Pitch Fest

An All-Day Competition

Fourteen entries, represented by individuals or teams, battled it out at the daylong event. They showcased the wisdom of their business plans and delivered their most convincing three-minute pitches. On hand was a three-judge panel of area entrepreneurs considering a broad spectrum of business ideas. Among the offerings were a Boxing Glove Company, Tumor Research Company, Athlete Placement Agency, Clay Art Studio, Female Empowerment Program, and Video Editing.

And the Winners Are

When it was all said and done, the ideas and the prize money went to:

·      First Prize, Angle Beans, $3,000.00

·      Second Prize, Best Friends, $2,000.00

·      Third Prize, Elevated Editing, $1,000.00

Dr. Patrick Woock, director of the UST McNair Center, said, “This year, McNair HCU hosted our annual festival, and we were impressed by their professional approach and top-tier program. Great job, Brenda Rios Brombacher with HCU!”

More Opportunity for Entrepreneurs

The UST McNair Center is planning to launch its second trailblazing Startup Accelerator cohort in spring 2023. The class will work with students one-on-one to take their business ideas to the next level. For more information about this upcoming class, contact Dr. Woock.
