Homecoming 2021: Red, Bold & Gold

Homecoming and Tailgate logosMake plans to attend the action-packed, Homecoming 2021 schedule of events running Monday, Nov. 8 through Sunday, Nov. 14. Food, tailgating, dancing and music are part of the fun, along with a Celt Men’s Basketball game and family activities.

Wear it proudly: UST swag will be available for attendees. Alumni are encouraged to return “home” and visit with faculty, staff and current students during this Red, Bold & Gold all-class, all-campus community event.

Homecoming weekday events offer something for all—faculty, staff, students, alumni, families and friends. Participate in a campus decorating contest; a Pep-Rally; a Car Decoration Parade; an Undergraduate 4.0 Party; a Guinan Hall Door Decorating Contest; a Chili Cookoff (be a contestant or taster); or "A Night to Remember" Student Homecoming Ball. In addition, on Tuesday evening, Larry Payne ’72, who is celebrating his 50th anniversary as an alumnus, will be honored with the Distinguished Servant Leader Award.

Friday, Nov. 12, promises plenty of visiting time with professors and friends at the various Schools and Department Open Houses. Followed that with a campus-wide Rock the Block Homecoming Happy Hour at the Black Lab.

Saturday, Nov. 13, known as Celt Flare features Tailgating from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (slots available with reservation), the Alumni Reunion Brunch and Alumni Tent Celebration & Tailgate, along with a Fun Zone for families. Def Jam Blaster will be on hand with music at the Tailgate along with headliner Hamilton Loomis ‘98, a crowd favorite, who plays his moves-making mix of blues, rock and soul music.

The noon tradition of strutting along behind bagpipers at the Celt Walk has participants winding from the Chapel to Jerabeck Center. If sports is your jam, come cheer on the Men’s Basketball team at their 7 p.m. game against Arlington Baptist University in Jerabeck Center where the Championship Banner & Ring Ceremony will take place at halftime along with the crowning of Mr. & Mrs. UST.

Sunday, Nov. 14, starts with Homecoming Mass at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of St. Basil and culminates with Family Day on the Academic Mall.
