St. Thomas Honors 43 Student Athletes on SCAC Honor Roll

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2022 fall term, and University of St. Thomas-Houston student athletes made it on the list of 510.

Since its inception in the fall of 1997, over 32,000 male and female student athletes have been recognized for their contributions in the classroom.

To qualify, a student athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.

The University of St. Thomas-Houston, with 43 honorees, tied for fourth place with Dallas, right behind Trinity, Colorado College and Southwestern.

Men's Soccer led all teams with 12 student athletes making the list. Right behind them was women's soccer with 11. Volleyball came in third with eight honorees, and Men's and Women's Cross Country rounded out the list with four and six recognitions respectfully.

"We are very proud when our student athletes succeed in competition, in the community, and especially in the classroom!" Athletic Director Todd Smith said. "The recognition of these 43 Celt student athletes reminds us we are here to help in the formation of the whole person. Congrats to every one of the recipients!"
